Since then the group has been providing traditional entertainment at various venues and festivals throughout Kilkenny city and county.

The group is made up of approximately 30 members - musicians, singers, step dancers and set dancers ranging in age from 14 years upwards.

Since 1993 Ceoltoiri Kilkenny has, by invitation, toured in Germany, France, Holland, Luxembourg, and Scotland and in 1998 made a historic trip to Argentina. In 2001 we were guests of the Rotary Clubs of New Zealand and in July 2002 attended the 22nd annual International Folk Festival in Montignac, France. In August 2004 the group participated at an International Folk Festival in Galicia, Spain and in June 2005 attended a cultural festival in TATA in Hungary.
Members of the group have also been involved in tourism promotions in Iceland and Wales. In August 2006 the group made a return visit to New Zealand again as guests of Rotary and in 2007 toured in Norway. In 2008 the group will travel to the Czech Republic.

Our Summer Entertainment Shows are very popular with locals and tourists alike. We also do corporate entertainment, entertain at charity events, concerts and frequently entertain visitors to our city - guests of the Local Authorities. The group have provided entertainment during the American Express Golf Classic and at the All-Ireland Hurling Finals.

We have been involved in Radio and Television programmes, entertained Eurovision entrants visiting Kilkenny , provided entertainment during the 1998 Tour de France and have performed on the Guinness Gig Rig at various All-Ireland Fleadhanna organised by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann.

The group has recorded 'Stall the Digger' a 14 track cassette of music, song and storytelling, and 'A Flavour of Ireland' 20 tracks of music and singing on both CD and Video.

Ceoltoiri Kilkenny is a non-professional, voluntary group promoting Irish Culture in an entertaining, professionally produced show. To enable us to tour abroad it is good to have contacts in other countries.
